HOW TO GET TO KOH LIPE
Today is easy to get to koh lipe, it is about 60km from Pak bars pier and 40km from Langkawi. Park Bara pier is the main hub connecting point to Koh Lipe run all year. to get to the island, it takes 1:30 to 02:00 Hrs from both Pak Bara Pier and Langkawi in Malaysia. During high season from November to late April, speedboat and ferries are connecting islands along Andaman side from Phuket to Langkawi, Malaysia. But in low season, it is only Pak Bara pier to connect to Koh Lipe and some trip stop by Tarutao island.
FLIGHTS TO KOH LIPE
There is no airport on Koh Lipe so you will need to fly to nearest airport such as Hatyai airport, Trang airport, and Langkawi airport then connect by minivan and boat.
GETTING TO KOH LIPE FROM BANGKOK
There are many flights a day from Bangkok to Hat Yai and it takes about 1 hour then transfer to a mini van or taxi to Pak Barra. In Pak Bara Pier, you can take a speedboat or ferry to get to Koh Lipe island. By the train from Bangkok to Hat Yai. If you have lots of time of journey, train is another option it takes around 15 hours, and there are five trains daily from Bangkok’s Hualamphong station: 13:00, 14:45, 15:10, 15:35 and 22:50.
The journey by taxi takes about 90 minutes. When booking a flight make sure you leave enough time to catch a ferry or speed boat. If your flight or train arrives in Hat Yai before 10.00am, you will have time to make it for the last ferry in Pak Bara to Koh Lipe. From here just take one of the boats direct to Koh Lipe, the journey takes approx. 1.5-2 hours.
FROM PHUKET TO KOH LIPE
During the high season you can travel down by ferry or speed boat to Koh Lipe. The coastal road in this area has got some great scenery. You can travel by bus or taxi to Pak Bar, and catch a speed boat to Koh Lipe. Pak Bara is the main pier for reaching Koh Lipe, speedboats run all year unless otherwise noted.
FROM LANGKAWI AIRPORT TO KOH LIPE
This route is open only during high season. Then you can book the boat to get to Koh Lipe. This route can be very busy and you should book your tickets in advance and remember to confirm your return ticket too. The ferries depart from Langkawi take approximately 30km to Koh Lipe. There are 2 main terminals, one is Telaga-Terminal and another one is Kuah Jetty. If you are wanting to travel from Langkawi during low season, you must first go to Satun or Hat Yai for a visa, then from there to Pak Bara as there is no immigration on Koh Lipe during this time of year.
FROM HAT YAI TO KOH LIPE
It only takes about 01:30 Hrs by taxi to the Pak Bara Pier. Pak Bara is the main pier for reaching Koh Lipe, speedboats run all year unless otherwise noted. The journey to or from Koh Lipe & Pak Bara takes about 01:30- 02:00 Hrs.
Getting to Koh Lipe from Other Destinations If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, you can fly direct to Langkawi or Hat Yai. The other options are to take a bus or train to Hat Yai and then taxi to Pak Bara. Once you arrive on Koh Lipe island the speed boat or ferry will stop offshore outside of the coral reefs on Pattaya Beach.
There is NO PIER on Koh LIPE. Your transfer ticket is exclusive of *National Park fee(200THB per person) and a longtail boat transfer between the platform and the island. The small boats (long tail boats) are run by local and they are not part of our arrangement. Please, prepare *transfer service fee (50 Baht per person) to local staff on the platform for longtail boat ticket.
